Sweet tooth

Tucked away near the Dekalb Farmer's Market is a dieter's nightmare--Nancy Cole's Southern Sweets Bakery (186 Rio Circle, Decatur, 404-373-8752), chock full of specialty desserts, cakes and her signature Key Lime Pies ($18 whole/$3 slice). A veteran baker who has long supplied restaurants and hotels including Bones, Fratelli's and The Mansion with treats, Cole's homey operation is a true family affair, with daughter Ashley (23) and son Joel (21) helping to turn out her towering Rustic Apple Pie, pecan-full Lemon Lust Bars and too-pretty-to-eat Fudge Tart ($21 whole). Next up: Cole plans to teach others her secrets in baking classes.
